Jumeirah Beach Hotel birthday celebration
May is my
birthday month. Getting older is a funny sort of thing and at times it sneaks
up on you. Am I really feeling old?
Probably, yes. For instance, I need to go to bed soon. I
can't go out on long nights anymore and I just can't seem to see the point of
going out of beers if the music is too loud for talking. OMG! I
must make sure to sit up straight in the office, or else my back will kill me.
Getting older has made me reflective and while some things are difficult
to reflect on, I am enjoying the process.

In my early days in Dubai, I was constantly trying to seize each
and every opportunity to make a difference. I guess I was worried
something amazing would pass me by if I didn't stay alert. I would go out
whenever I am on day’s off and a night would cry if I am on my night shifts (my
friends Abby, Nesch, Ice and Lei can attest on this). These days, I am
happy knowing that I did my best to keep up what my parents taught me.
Am I just turning into a boring version of me? I hope not.
2013 continues to be about change and fearless living more than
ever for me - and that goes for my decision-making. I was promoted this
year, I heard from one of my boss that my team was the best shift in my
department (manifesting area) and I received a mail from one of another seniors
telling my boss that she was thankful to me for being so helpful in their
department that made their work more easy when times of difficulty. It
surprises me a lot because I never thought that people would notice my hard
work. I thanked my colleagues for being like a real team and catching up
on me when I am being too noisy at times. Well, guys I do love to just
laugh all the time. Working with series of nationalities is not an easy
task. You have to know all of them.
They have a different upbringing, cultures, likes and dislikes. I
made it along the way and passing on this journey would never be the same if
they were not cooperative. Cheers to all of you (you guys know who you are).
Last May 24, my Boyfie surprised me with an awesome birthday treat
at Jumeirah Beach Hotel - a 5 star luxury hotel in Dubai. He was planning
for the past few days where to have a romantic dinner for two and Villa Beach
came to the view.

I enjoyed the sumptuous dinner prepared for us. I can't exactly remember the unusual names of the food (the starter, main menu and the dessert). Let me just post the pictures.

Right after our dinner, we
headed to 360 degrees bar - one of Dubai’s finest bar. The name says it
all really. This elegant laid-back terrace bar boasts superb panoramic
views of the Burj Al Arab (the only 7 star hotel in the world) and the Jumeirah
Beach Hotel.
It was the perfect place to escape from stress. Cool house
tunes set the tone that will make you dance.
To my Mama, Papa, Big Bro and my son - I love you more than words
can say, I love you to the moon and back and I know thank you will be endless
if I start counting.
Reflecting back on all these times makes me think about how much
my life has really changed throughout my existence. Remembering all the
faces to those people who touched my life made me realize I am blessed each day
that you all became a part of my life's puzzle. You guys rocked my world.
I am more thankful to the trials that I’ve been through....
for because of those rocky roads I passed... it leads me to the
most understanding person I have ever met, THE Riggi. You know how much
you mean to me. When God decides to bless me, He turn my mourning to dancing,
turn my tears to laughter and turn my anger to happiness and you are a big part
of it.
I guess I had spent almost 2 hours for blogging my birthday....
It doesn't end there yet because my birthday has just started and I was
granted for a local leave today. First
part of this biggie day is celebrating it with my driving instructor. GTG
guys... Wish me luck for my safe driving.
Love,
M xo
